Laura Williams hails from the beautiful islands of the Bahamas, where she grew up in the city of Nassau. Born July 16th,1943, Laura left school at the age of 13 years old due to the educational rule for students during that time. In 1968 during his tenure when he became Prime Minister of the Bahamas, Sir Lyden Oscar Pindling then changed the educational mandate that allowed children to graduate high school from the age of 14 to 17 years old. At this time, Laura became an avid supporter of the Progressive Liberal Party under the leadership of Sir Lyden Oscar Pindling, a Giant of a Man.
With a passion for entrepreneurship, Laura has been an entrepreneur from the tender age of 13. She sold both international and native produce from numerous locations around the island of New Providence. However, she was mainly known at her Blue Hill Road location adjacent to Super Value Grocery store. During Laura’s time at Blue Hill Road, she was one of the only produce vendors that was seen by the Late Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth during her official visit in 1985 to open the Elizabeth Estates community.
Laura is widely known for her dominant political voice through the Bahamas. As she traveled the world, she would represent the Progressive Liberal Party and the Bahamas through her attire but most known for her extravagant hairstyles with photos of World Leaders such as Sir Lyden O. Pindling, The Rt. Honorable Perry Gladstone Christie and the former President of the United States of America, Barack Obama. Presently, at the age of 80, Laura is still actively working in which you can find her on Tonique Williams-Darling Highway. She has four (4) beautiful children, Judd, Kira, Jenson & Jochlano Williams and three (3) grandchildren who she loves so dearly, Jaheim, Jace and Jenna Williams.
